SPECIAL REPORT: Did China's DeepSeek Just Pop The AI Stock Bubble? | Charles Hugh Smith
Providing a layman's explanation to this potential "Sputnik moment"
Just days ago, China rocked the world with the surprise release of its DeepSeek A.I. model.
DeepSeek apparently performs as well as — and reportedly in certain cases, better than — the leading current A.I. models run by the big Tech corporations (aka the Mag 7)…but at a fraction of the cost and energy usage.
It can be run on much less powerful machines than the Nvidia GPUs thought to be essential until now.
And, China released the DeepSeek code as open source. So anyone around the world can use it, edit it and share it.
What does this mean for the future of A.I.?
And does this undermine the $trillions in market value that are currently priced into the Mag 7 stocks on the assumption that they had an unassailable “lock” on the A.I. market?
For a layman’s overview of this fast-evolving development, I just asked analyst Charles Hugh Smith of OfTwoMinds.com to join me for this special report.

The part about not needing countless nvidia chips is not news... Its entering public conscienceness though. In 2022 oct 27, before AI blew up Raoul pal intervied Emad Mostaque of Stability. It was stated that once a llm model is trained, it can run on end user hardware. Mag 7 ai solutions have made it a cloud hosted service to plebs to mine or data and to fit their subscription $$$ model of doing business. The key questions are this: how long until we have trained a good enough LLM ? Nvidia depends on this. Will some company drop a fully trained open source easy to mod and deploy product? No corp implementing this wants their data being sold. This will destroy data scraping subscription based companies...
